Just below the bridge you cross on Sittons Gulch Trail in Cloudland Canyon on your way to Hemlock Falls, this little 8-foot, single-drop waterfall is visible about 100 feet off the trail. The ground is littered with hundreds of grapefruit-sized stones that will quickly trip you up, making the way to any decent viewing angle of this waterfall treacherous at the least. My friend Steve Arnold chose to go to the right of the fallen tree for his photograph. I chose the more difficult path, thinking the view would be better for the scene. I did not get the photograph I envisioned, which included another unaccessible waterfall above this one, but I do feel justified in the results of the photo I did get, which I call "Refreshing."
I love the beautiful world God created. I'm like Indiana Jones on a treasure quest when hunting for my photos in the GA/SC/NC triangle. "Capturing the beauty of the moment" sums up the essence of my photography.
